Trump Calls Families of Injured National Guard Soldiers to White House

Former President Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the family of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

He noted that he conversed with her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Event

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

White House Call

The president explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both members of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump informed reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Attendees assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to aid law enforcement in DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that teachers desired. She carried herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the principal of her former high school, told the Associated Press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always willing to help others.”

Funeral details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Steps and Government Adjustments

Officials have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the administration to halt asylum processing and cease providing visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a resident of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey said on television.

Attorney general Bondi stated on a news show that she planned to visit his relatives.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, per the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
