Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the 45 charges comprise:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
