Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.

The Serious Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Offences

The charging documents outline the 45 charges comprise:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police have asked individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
