Celebrity Traitors Finale Accidentally Made Available 24 Hours Prematurely Outside the UK
Important: This article does not contain spoilers related to the final episode
This final episode of the star-studded edition of the popular reality show was uploaded in error by international distributors prior to its planned UK broadcast on Thursday, according to a network statement.
It is understood that the final was viewed by a few hundred subscribers of the streaming service Crave in Canada; they were able to watch it for a couple of hours until it was removed.
The installment being released was not a mistake by the original broadcaster, and a representative for the company urged those who believe they know the outcome of the series to "refrain from posting any reveals".
"We urge anyone who thinks they know the outcome of the celebrity edition to hold whatever they believe they know to themselves," the announcement read.
"We ask you to refrain from posting any spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every twist and turn of the series can enjoy the finale this evening."
The Celebrity Traitors is presently the most-watched TV program of the year, with an average of 12.6 million people over the initial installments.
Fans of the series have been eagerly anticipating to see whether traitors Cat Burns and Alan Carr will win the £100,000 prize for a good cause or whether faithfuls Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed and David Olosuga will be triumphant.
A former winner of the third series of The Traitors stated that "everyone dislikes spoilers", which are "the thief of joy".
He mentioned they will be sitting down to view the final this evening live, with all of his family and "a bucket of popcorn".
Thursday's concluding installment is lengthened to 70 minutes on the main channel, with an extended edition of the companion show set to air on the secondary channel following the finale.
Host Ed Gamble will be joined by the cast and Claudia Winkleman as they respond to the series conclusion.
